Welcome to Cranbourne Arthritis Support Group

Cranbourne Arthritis Support Group was formed in August 1980 when two Cranbourne ladies formed a self help  group of women from Cranbourne and Koo Wee Rup with Arthritis to exercise in the Cranbourne pool doing a series of exercises devised by Dr. Les Koadlow - a renowned rheumatologist – to relieve pain and improve their quality of life.

Today we are part of “Musculoskeletal Aust (MSK Aust)” – formerly “Arthrtitis Victoria,” who among other things are responsible for our session leaders training and accreditation.

We are located at Casey Race, 65 Berwick – Cranbourne Road, Cranbourne East Vic 3977 where we have the use of the warm hydrotherapy pool. Our session days are Monday and Thursday from 8-00/9-30am and we have 2 x 45 minute sessions – 8.00/8.45 and 8.45/9.30 each day. At the end of these sessions we have the use of the pool’s amenities room  to relax and have light refreshments.

We raise money for various institutions and charities. Our main donation is to MSK Aust for the research into and the treatment of Juvenile Arthritis. Also we donate to the Cancer Council,  Bunnings “Adopt a Family” in conjunction with the Salvation Army and local charities in Cranbourne.

In addition to this we have various social activities including Morning Melodies luncheons, film days and day bus trips to places of interest around Melbourne and its surrounds including the Dandenongs and Mornington Peninsula.

New members are most welcome. Information about joining can be obtained from any of our committee members or our new member exercise instructor whose names and phone numbers appear under the Contact Us page.

New members are issued with an information pack which contains details of our activities, request for personal details, also your doctors certification that you are fit and healthy for our exercise program.

LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU IN THE POOL.
